The other day Dave and I found this note from Madison on our bed...



We love being parents to these sweet girls and treasure all the sweet memories along the way!!

We were up in Sandy for Sunday dinner and we hear a knock at the door and low and behold this was what was outside waiting for us! Horses!!! My girls were in heaven! So was Dave's dad, he is a farm boy at heart and jumped right up on that horse with no reservations! These are beautiful animals, and huge when you are watching your little child go for a walk on them. It was the highlight of their day!

Dang it!! I hate Church Ball!

Dave has a complete ACL tear! He will be going in for surgery on Aug.29th to have reconstructive surgery. Neither one of us is very excited about this, but feel confident with the doctor and his ability to fix him up right!

We are going make quite the pair, him hobbling around on crutches, and me hobbling around with my pregnant belly!

Look at Maddies new do!! She is so brave with her hair. I am a little more timid with mine, so it's very refreshing to see the different styles she wants to try with no fear of it's outcome. So far, we have loved everything about this cut, it's a cute little A-line, Michelle is sporting it too, but it's not so new to her. They both pull it off really well. Little Rachels hair is a little to thin and fine, but we flip hers up like her sisters and she loves it too. When we flip it up they call it their "poofy" hair. I love it!!


This is Maddie's first day of 2nd grade! So far she LOVES Mrs.Nelson, and has too many friends to know what to do with!! She felt pretty cool sporting her new horse shirt and her new lovely locks!

Liberty Park

My good friends from WAY back when...Jillaire is living in Washington and came out for a visit with her three kiddos. She was kind enough to take time from her busy schedule to fit us in for a day at liberty park.

Sandra came with her little man as well! It is soo fun to stay connected to friends that your life has entertwined with since you were 11 yrs old!

A mini reunion

These are the girls that I roomed with up at Ricks College my first year in 1997-1998. We had so much fun together and were lucky enough to really get along and make some lifelong memories.

We decided to all get together with our kids and reminisce about our college days, and catch up on our lives now. It was so fun! Thanks Ann for putting it all together!

Madison went on her first family vacation, without her family!! My siblings all went to Yellowstone for a 5 day adventure. Dave and I decided it wouldn't be the best timing for us, me being 6.5 months pregnant and he was pretty busy at work. My brother and sister in law asked if they could take Maddie. She begged to go, and I was eventually able to persuade Dave that she would come back, and so off she went. I was happy to hear that she cried for us, and I told her that Dave cried for her too. We are glad that she had so much fun with her cousins camping, swimming, seeing buffalo, a baby bear and exploring! BUT we missed you way too much to let you do that again anytime soon!!

A momentary lapse of good judgement....

So, we took the girls (minus Maddie who was up at Yellow Stone with my family), up to hike to the timpanogas cave, I had never done this before so we looked online to see the level of difficulty. Online it said that on a scale of 1-10, it was a 2 I would have to disagree!! Wow it's quite the climb, but we did it and really enjoyed it once it was all over! I felt so bad for Grandma Net and Dave who were the designated carriers once the little girls got too tired to walk anymore.

Back Tracking...

Ok, so going back to the 24th of July. We had a yummy BBQ at Dave's parents house. The girls enjoyed Grandmas little pool and jumping on the trampoline. As you can see in the pictures, Rachel loved the corn and made sure to nibble whatever was left off of any cobbs left on nearby plates. After it got dark we lit off a few humble fireworks.

Ok....I feel like Heavenly Father played a little trick on me by giving me three (soon to be four) girls to raise, seeing as I am completely unprepared for dealing with the whole sisters thing, having grown up with all brothers. So I would like to pick the brains of you gals who grew up with sisters, and how your mom's bless their hearts were able to instill in you the importance of close sisterly relationships, and how she dealt with you girls when you were drama queens, or when you were fighting over who wore your clothes without asking etc.

My girls are still so sweet and seem to get a long with each other most of the time, but I can feel it in my bones, that I will have to have a plan up my sleeve and some stored up wisdom to deal with the not so smooth times.
