While we were working on the shelves, Rachel was using my camera to capture the outdoors. I could hardly believe she took these pictures, they are beautiful!

Happy Happy Birthday to me!! My Dad and Brother Brett built me these wonderful shelves for my birthday!! I am thrilled! Look at all the storage we have now, it's life changing!

They came over on Saturday afternoon and knocked these out in about 4-5 hours. I learned a few tricks of the trade too. I learned how to use a nail gun and also how not to use a nail gun. It always amazes me that you can start out with a pile of wood and then turn it into something like this! I am thrilled! Thanks guys!! I am off to organize!

I just had to post this picture of Grace! I can't believe she held still long enough for me to capture this!

My Mom's ward has an annual rodeo and it is a really big deal! She invited all of us kids and all the grandkids so she could show us off. The rodeo festivities last 2 days, but we were only able to go on Saturday, but it was amazing. The day started with a parade, my Mom is the RS President of her ward and they all had to dress up like "Hollywood" it was pretty funny to see her attempt that cause she is just the furthest thing from it!

After the parade we had a scrumptious breakfast of pancakes, ham, eggs, fruit, muffins and juice, it was awesome and could have easily kept me full for the rest of the day, but no there is more! All the free cotton candy, snow cones and popcorn you can eat! We stuffed ourselves silly while we watched the rodeo, mutton busting, which Maddie attempted and lasted 4.9 seconds! We also saw kids try to grab a pig and put it in a barrel, climb a greased pole to grab money at the top, a watermelon spitting contest, and bobbing for apples, it was great!

One of the best parts for us was connecting with Maddie's childhood as in friend from when she was 9 months old. I used to babysit McKenzie when Maddie was 9 months an she was 18 months. I babysat her for 3 years during our college days at BYU. They have stayed good little friends and had a lot of fun running around together.

After all those festivities they provided lunch for everyone of hamburgers, hotdogs, corn on the cob, baked beans and watermelon it was wonderful! A fun time was had by all and then we all rolled home!

I am still adjusting to having only two children with me during the day. Michelle has started first grade and loves it, but I miss having her around like crazy!

Probably my favorite thing about our new home is this view! We LOVE being so close to the temple! On this particular day the girls spotted a rainbow close to the temple. I tried to capture the beauty of it all, but my little dinky camera has it's limitations, but you get the idea.

Last week my Dad was over helping us install our cabinet hardware. We were getting ready to eat dinner and everyone was at the table but Rachel. I casually told Michelle to go find her, and when she returned without her I felt myself getting a little annoyed. So I told everyone to go ahead and eat and I would go get her. Well, I started on my search for her, calling her name and looking in her room, and then her sisters room, then my room, nothing. Then my search started to get a little more thorough, looking in closets, yelling her name a little louder, looking in showers and in the basement, nothing. By this time, no one was sitting at the dinner table, we were all searching for her, calling her name and starting to feel the adrenaline rush of losing a child. AT LAST, my Dad found her buried under this pile of laundry on my bed! Just one more reason not to procrastinate doing laundry, you may loose a kid under there!

Perhaps the biggest news of 2010 for us is that we bought a new home!! It's such a happy yellow house! We found this home by Richmond American up in Daybreak, South Jordan. The builders were offering swinging deals we just couldn't pass it up! When we found the house it was in the drywall stage so we got to pick everything, which was really fun! We spent a few hours, (Dave will say it felt like eternity!) in the design center making the home just the way we wanted it, on a budget of course. But honestly, we think it's dreamy! And it feels oh so good to have our own place to call home!

The end of the 2010 school year came way to quickly!

Michelle loved Ms. Schmidt and asked if she could have her phone number on the last day of school. She didn't give us her number, but she gave us her email address and Michelle is very excited about keeping in touch.

Kindergarten was a piece of cake for Michelle! She mastered scaring and chasing all the boys, making friends with all the girls and learning how to read, write and do some math. Phew, it was a busy year for her!

Madison really enjoyed 3rd grade with Ms. Elmer. She always said she was nice but strict. I think that is the perfect combo. With Madison's sweet temperament they got along just fine. Madison loves math, spelling and prides herself in earning her cursive "license."

Madison and Michelle both played soccer on a city league this year. Since it was Michelle's first year playing, she was able to have her Dad coach her team, the Red Dragons. Madison was on the Blue Razors. Both teams played well and the girls seemed to really enjoy it.

On May 14th all of my siblings, our spouses and my parents drove to Spokane WA for my little brother Steven's law school graduation. He survived three years of Law School at Gonzaga University! It was a long drive, and a short trip, but we soaked it up while we were there. Spokane is beautiful, but the real beauty lies in Coeur d'alene. We rented a lake house where we all stayed together. It was spectacular! After the graduation we packed Steve's entire life up and put it into his car and a little trailer and brought him home to Utah. We are proud of him for working so hard in law school and look forward to having him around more here at home.
