Laughter is the best Medicine!

Grace: Mom, I like you.

Me: I like you too Grace

Grace: Because I'm cute...and special?

11/12

Grace talking to Lexi (our dog): Someone made me this skirt and no puppy is going to ruin it, it's special!

11/12

Grace was in the car with me and I was verbally expressing my annoyance with a slow driver. She said: Come on Lady or you'll go to the farm!

11/12

Grace: Why am I such an itchy princess?!

11/12

Grace: Daddy, where is your heart?

(She presses her head to his chest)

Grace: It says, when is Christmas?!

11/12

Rachel: Is that diet coke? You're gonna get wild tonight!

11/12

After Dave popped Rachel's back she said: Mom you sure married a strong man!

11/12

After seeing the girls off to school...

Grace: Mommy, my sisters are beautiful.

3/12

Grace: I miss Rachel, she is a good sister.

3/12

I was answering Rachel's questions about if we were going to have more kids or not, and I was leaning towards the not. She replied, "Is that factory closed?"

3/12

Grace: Mom you look like a ding-bell

3/12

Rachel: I wish Maddie cared more about her family than her tortoise so we could have more food and give to the poor.

3/12

Michelle: She's pretty much my only BFF everyone else in my class is beyond fun, or too weird for my taste.

10/6/2011

I was doing the dishes and Michelle prances into the kitchen with a big smile on her face. I asked her what she was so happy about to which she replies: "I was just looking at myself in the mirror and I thought, wow that girl is pretty!"

9/30/2011

While doing the girls hair this morning Rachel asked Madison if she would like a braid in her hair. Maddie replied: "No, I'm in 5th grade and only one more year till I am on the throne." (throne=6th grade)

9/27/2011

I was excited when I saw my girls watching the flinstones...

Me: I used to watch the Flinstones when I was a little girl!!

Michelle: These cartoons must be really old then!

9/6/2011

Rachel: I used to like raisins when I was a little kid, but I think my taste bud for it fell off... (gasp) what if my taste bud for pizza falls off?

9/2/2011

Michelle whispered to me: Mom, Rachel hit Dad in the weenie.

9/1/2011

While sitting at the dinner table Rachel says: I'm having an off day.... (followed by a fluff)

8/31/2011

Michelle was holding baby Tyler, he made a face that looked like he might start to cry. Michelle started singing to him and said: "He wants to cry but because of the sweet singing he can't."

8/22/2011

Me: Rachel how was your day?

Rachel: Not good, I got in trouble for karate chopping a boy.

Me: Why did you do that?

Rachel: He was annoying me.

Me: Who got mad at you?

Rachel: A different teacher, she asked me if I hit him and I said no I karate chopped him!

8/22/2011

Dave called from the office and I had him on speaker phone, he was rustling some papers around and Grace said: "Ahhh, you scared my ears!"

8/13/2011

Grace: "Mommy, my tummy get bigger like yours!"

8/13/2011

Rachel: "Mom, when you brush my hair my eyes sweat."

8/13/2011

I asked Maddie how she slept and she said: Horrible, my stomach felt like it was eating me.

8/12/2011

Because of Dave's cunning remarks during opening arguments at trial this morning he got the case dismissed, because of that, one of the partners at his firm called him a dragon slayer. The girls thought that title was pretty cool. When Dave was tucking Michelle in, he told her goodnight and to keep being a good girl, to which she replied: Goodnight and keep slaying dragons!

8/10/2011

Michelle was explaining to Dave why she was willing to be such a hard worker. She said that she wanted to help me out because I was pregnant and she knows that pregnant women have needs. Dave mentioned that even when I am not pregnant I still have needs. Michelle replied with: I have a need too, I want to marry a buff man.

8/10/2011

Rachel: "Mom, if you do a handstand or a whip down will you throw up the baby?"

8/10/2011

While at church Grace was picking her nose and found something. She tried to hand it to Dave and told him to put it in his nose.

7/31/2011

We went to the Days of 47 rodeo for family night. It was a lot of fun after I cooled down from the fact the Michelle did not wear shoes and didn't realize it until we pulled into the Maverick Center!

While watching the cowboys ride the bucking broncos Maddie leaned over to me and said: "I wanna marry one of those!"

7/25/2011

Grace:"I love Jackie, I want to marry him."

Me: "You can't marry Jackie, he is your cousin."

Grace: (gasping) Jackie don't love me?! (drops her head to her chest.)

7/29/2011

Me: "Grace, you're naked."

Grace: " No I'm not, I have my hair on."

7/27/2011

Michelle: "I think Mason's cute and Dakota but he doesn't have the guts to show the love like Mason."

3/31/2011

Michelle: I understand why Mason likes me. I look in the mirror everyday and I am beautiful, pretty, and strong.

3/31/2011

Grace (2) was hiding under a blanket and she said to Dave: " Daddy, where I goes?"

2/19/2011

Me: "Michelle, are you friends with everyone in your class?

Michelle(7): "Yes, except Shade, he calls me beautiful, he believes in ghosts and he picks his nose."

2/17/2011

Michelle(7): "Mom, what would be a smashing name for my hamster?"

2/14/2011

Michelle (7): "Mom, what is your biggest pet pee?"

2/14/2011

Michelle (7) said to Rachel(5) while playing the wii: "Come on Rachel, it's all about winning, it's not sissy time!"

2/13/2011

Michelle(7): "Mom, I am not a crazy person, I am more a relaxing person who likes to dance and do cartwheels."

2/5/2011

Michelle(7): "I heard from Dakotas own mouth that he likes me. I went up to him and said, Dakota, do you like me? You don't need to be embarrassed, I just want to know."

2/2/2011

Rachel(5): "I like to take drinks, it freshens my froat."

1/14/2011

Rachel(5): "I've seen one of those babies before." As a cement truck drives by.

11/2010

Michelle (7): "I remember when me and Tallie were friends, we had such good imaginations, but that was the past and now I am in the present and bring on the future!"

11/2010

Michelle (7) came home from school and was reporting on an artist that she was learning about. She said: "She had a face that could make all her dreams come true."

10/6/2010 Michelle: "Mom, want to see my muscles (she flexes) this is how I beat up boys so easy.

9/28/2010

While blow drying Rachel's (4) hair this morning she said: "Ok Mom, I don't hear anymore wet hair."

9/25/2010

On the kitchen counter next to a 9x13 pan of enchiladas I found a note from Michelle that said: Michelle is ENT (empty)

9/23/2010

Part of Michelle's prayer at dinner: "Please bless Cozmo to return home safely, unless he is dead, then could you tell him we love him."

9/16/2010 On the way to Dave's aunt's house for Sunday dinner, Maddie put her feet by Grace and Grace said: "Ewww, stinky!"

9/12/2010 After getting back home late from Sunday dinner the girls were all asleep. I woke up Michelle and asked her to wake up Rachel, she said: "No way, the last time I did that she hit me."

9/12/2010

Me: Michelle, why are you playing with Rachel if she is being so mean to you?

Michelle: To help her mean-ness cool off.

9/9/2010

Last night I was helping the girls with some shrinky Dinks, basically you have to trace a picture onto some special paper and then you bake it and they shrink into a small plastic version of the original. So, I was tracing the pictures for them and Michelle said:

Mom, you are so good at tracing! Seriously, that is what I would call quality work!

9/6/2010

Rachel: Dad, can you drive home really fast, if you get pulled over just tell the police that I had to go to the bathroom.

9/6/2010

Michelle: Mom, I'm glad that I'm six, wanna know why?Me: Yes

Michelle: Because you are a ways away from being dead!9/6/2010

Me: Oh, here is the hairspray, it was hiding.

Michelle: Maybe it was afraid of you spraying its guts!

9/2/2010

During listening centers, a boy sitting next to Michelle said to her: "You are tough like a rhino and mean like a shark." Obviously something out of the story. Michelle told me that made her feel good, because she likes to be rough with the boys because "they are so tender."8/31/2010

Michelle: Mom, I want to be pro-active!

8/26/2010

Tonight for dinner we were having chicken divan. Michelle said: " Can you get me another scoop of this, it's good for my soul!"
8/9/2010

When we were frantically looking for our "missing" Rachel, Michelle said, "Well, she must be dead because I am her best buddy and she always answers when I call her."
8/3/2010

Madison's latest joke: "Have you seen the new movie constipation? to which we reply, "No." she says, "oh, well it hasn't come out yet."8/3/2010

Michelle continues to develop her entrepreneurial spirit! I found a shiny pile of rocks on the curb in front of our house with a sign that said: "Come and get your rocks, leave the money here. $25"
7/17/2010

I was kind of lecturing Michelle and telling her that little girls shouldn't do this or that to which she replied: "I would like it if you called me a woman."
6/23/2010

Me: "Dave, did you hear that Madison changed her first poopy diaper today?"
Maddie: "It didn't end well, I got poop all over me!"

5/5/2010

I just got back from running and Rachel said: "Mom, you look better with your hat off ... and with your hair down."

Me: "Thanks Rach, is there ANYTHING else you would like to be honest about?"Rachel: "The church is true."4/21/2010

Rachel said while playing with her cousin Olivia Rockwood: "Awww, she likes me! That means I will be a good Muver" (Mother).
4/18/2010

Michelle: "Moooommmmmm, Maddie said I am such a dweet!" (dweeb?)
4/18/2010

While driving around Rachel asks me where we are going, to which I reply, we are running a few errands. Her response: Arrrrgghhhhh, you are wasting my time!!
3/24/2010

Michelle: Mom I want a snack, a drink and a foot massage.
2/8/2010

Rachel was looking through a bag of hand-me-downs and found a cute denim skirt, she said: Look, a cowgirl skirt! Now I can go cowgirling!
2/8/2010

Rachel: "Mom do you have one of those tangle things in your froat?
1/31/2010

Michelle talking about some kids that weren't nice at school, she said: They can quit being my friend but they can't quit me acting like a friend.
1/26/2010

Me: " You guys have made a ridiculous mess in your room!"

Michelle: " That doesn't make me feel very comfy."

1/22/2010

Michelle: "Where do you get married?"

Mom: "In the temple."

Michelle: "Yes, but you have to dance with your partner and have a feast.

1/15/2010

Lately Rachel loathes getting ready for dance. This morning was no different. I asked her to get her dance leotard on and she said: Ahhh, I broke-up with dance!"
1/12/2010

Last night Michelle had a private conversation with Grandma that was later related to me, it went something like this:

Michelle: Grandma, I have gas.

Grandma: Oh, that is ok, just go into the bathroom and turn on the fan, it will suck out all the stinky air.

Michelle: You know what stinks? My bathroom doesn't have a fan.

1/10/09

Rachel: "Michelle, are my bangs wrinkled?

1/9/2010

I had just finished telling my girls that some of their cousins were getting a new dog! To which Rachel (4) replied "How exciting is that?!"

1/4/2010

Madison (9) came into my room all teary at the thought of our house burning down and her hamster dying. She said, " Once the fireman cleared the house I would run to Sugar's (her hamster) cage to see if she was smoked up, you know to see if she was like furry bacon.

1/3/2010

Michelle (6) joined in on the house burning down conversation, but it steared from pets dying to children dying. She informed me that I could adopt another little girl to replace her, I assured her no other little girl could EVER replace her to which she replied, "Yeah, I'm wild, I read, and I am a fun girl."
1/3/2010

Rachel (4): "The sky woke me up too early because I just hawned" and she proceeded to yawn.
12/31/09

For Christmas Santa brought a three compartment candy machine! The girls love it! In Michelle's words "We are the luckiest kids in the world!"

This morning, Michelle came running down the stairs with Rachel's quarters in hand and said, "Rachel, who cares, we don't need money, how about we use your quarters to get some M&M's and some Mike & Ikes?!"
12/28/09

Rachel was doing something similar to the potty dance so I asked her if she needed to go potty, she responded "Nope I am doing this dance to be stylish!"
12/21/09

I picked Michelle up from kindergarten, after she closed the door of the car she shivered and said: I wish I had some ear-muffins!
12/8/09

I was telling Michelle and Rachel that Santa might come for a visit before Christmas, and if they didn't clean their room he wouldn't have nice things to say to them. Michelle said: " He will say, Boo, boo, boo, instead of Ho,Ho, Ho?"
12/8/09

Today I was trying to teach Michelle to not be a "smart-aleck" Rachel must have been listening in on the conversation because she asked me if she was being a "nice - aleck."
9/8/09

Rachel was being a big tease in the car and everyone had had it, so I threatened to have Dave spank her bum. She replied "he doesn't spank very hard."
8/22/09

While running errands today...
Me: "Oh man it's hot!"
Michelle: " I wish I had a freezer with me."
Still running errands, we were at Rod Works and Michelle is looking at their Halloween decorations and she approaches a large skeleton and says " Why yes, handsome prince, I will marry you."
8/22/09

Me: "Where is Rachel, she is supposed to be helping you clean your room."
Michelle: "She is downstairs playing, but it's ok, really, let her have some fun."
8/20/09

Rachel: "Mom, I wish Jesus would make me into a fairy."
8/06/09

I can't remember what I said, but I was teasing Rachel and as she whined in reaction I hugged her and said "I am sorry Rachel, I was just teasing you," to which she responded, "Mom, Mothers don't tease!"
8/3/09

Me: "Who wants to say family prayer?"
Rachel: "I do!(both hands raised in the air), No wait...I doubly do! (Lying on back with both hands and feet in the air)
7/30/09

As we were walking past the Tracy Aviary Michelle said she was getting a little worried. Dave asked her why, she said because her face was painted like a butterfly and she didn't want the birds to get her.
7/24/09

Me: "Michelle you can't wear a long sleeve shirt in the summertime!"
Michelle: "Fine, I will wear it tomorrow."
7/24/09

Madison sings while she cleans: Some where out there I will kiss you in the stars... ooooh, ooooh someone out there I will fall in love with yoooooou!
7/21/09

Michelle came downstairs prepared to tattle on Rachel for playing instead of cleaning. I called Rachel to me and told her that she needed to go to time out for not listening. Once she was in the corner, I reminded her that she shouldn't play when it was clean up time. This was her response:
" Uggg, I am so mad at Michelle!" I asked her why, she said: She was supposed to keep that a secret!"
7/20/09

This morning Madison showed me a tiny red dot on her forehead and she said: " Mom, look at my little nip." I asked her what a nip was, she said, "a nibble, I was bitted by a bug!"
7/9/09

Natalie: "Michelle, do you need me to help you wash your hair?"
Michelle: "No, I got everything controlled."
6/29/09

While driving in the car I hear this conversation between Michelle and Rachel:
Rachel: "I can pick my nose!"
Michelle: "Anything you can do, I can do better!"
6/28/09

We just found out the girls teachers for this next school year. Madison will be in 3rd grade and her teacher is Mrs. Elmer. Michelle will be in kindergarten and her teacher is Mrs. Schmidt. I knew right away this would be a problem, not the teacher, but the name. I whipped out the video camera and had Michelle in the spotlight, and I asked her what her teachers name was, low and behold it came out Mrs. Sh**, I could hardly hold the camera steady.
6/7/09

Giggling while being attacked by Grace, Rachel said: " She thinks me her toy!"

Michelle and Dave were talking about our family.
Michelle: "We have a good family, better than the Supper Nanny family."
4/24/09

Michelle: "Mom, there is a big plump of earac in my ear."
She was talking about earwax.
4/23/09

I saw Rachel crawling behind the couch, and I asked her what she was doing...
Rachel: " Mom I was trying to sneak, ahhhhh you ruined my sneaking!"
4/23/09

After asking Michelle to do something Maddie said under her breath: "Michelle is driving my patience."
4/23/09

Michelle: "Mom, you made me good!"
Such a random thought!
3/8/09

Michelle: "Rachel, stop acting like a child."
3/4/09

Me: Rachel you need to take a bath tonight.
Rachel: "Why, because I am stinky like a dog?"
2/27/09

Rachel was cuddling with me in the morning and she said, "Mom you are special...to Jesus."
2/25/09

While on a Sunday drive Rachel said: "Those mountains sure are pokey!"
2/15/09

Maddie: "Mom what was your favorite song in the old days?"
1/23/09

Me: " Maddie why didn't you practice the piano?"

Maddie: " Aww, I must be mindless!"
1/22/09

Michelle: "Mom, my eyes are out of control, they just rolled at Maddie."
1/15/09

I asked Maddie how she felt after she got baptized and she said: "I feel so light, I feel like I could fly."
1/3/09

Rachel & Michelle were playing boxing on the Wii, and Michelle was beating Rachel up, and Rach turns to Michelle and says: Shell! nenember I'm your best buddy!
1/3/09

Dave was listening to Rachel's heart beat, and he asked her if she knew what her heart was saying, and Rach said yes, it says feed me.

Rachel crying in the bathtub cause she got water in her eyes. Michelle: It's ok Rach, water helps your eyes grow!"
12/17/08

On the way home one night Dave and I were listening to The Dave Ramsey Radio show. We hear Michelle groan and say: "I don't want to listen to boy Dr. Laura!"
12/8/08

We had homemade pizza for dinner last night. I fed the girls and set aside some for Dave for when he got home from his meeting. Michelle came up to me and said: "Mom we ate all the pizza and left one piece for Dad." Apparently I wasn't clear that they weren't supposed to eat Dad's pizza, and I was upset cause now there wasn't any left for him. I asked Michelle what she was thinking, eating all that and she said, "I was thinking about....Pizza!"
11/25/

Maddie: " Daddy, what do you want my man to look like, if I ever get one...you?"
11/25/08

Rachel was crying and said she had hit her head.
Michelle: " That means you damaged your brain, go lie down."
I asked Michelle what had happened.
Michelle: " She hit her head and loosed some of her thinks.
11/24/08

I was trying to wake Maddie up this morning, I said " Maddie, when I say it's time to get up, you don't just roll over and go back to sleep." Then Michelle who followed me into her room said, "Like a dog!"
11/19/08

Rachel: "I don't like yucky boys, them annoying."
11/16/08

Madison didn't want to eat her dinner, so I said, ok, but you won't get any dessert. After they were all in bed my SIL Brandi and I were eating our scrumptious monkey bread and Madison comes and sits down and asks, "How do you sleep with a full mind and an empty stomach?"
11/13/08

I overheard this conversation between Maddie and Michelle. Michelle is crying because Maddie stepped on her hand.
Maddie: "Michelle, remember to be tough like a Castleberry.
Michelle: "Berries get squished."
11/08/08

Today I was getting Michelle ready for church, I was putting on her tights when she mumbled something under her breath, "what did you say?" I asked her, she smiled and said, "thunder wedgie." I had to ask my 5 year old what a thunder wedgie was. Thanks Aunt Kristen!

11/02/08

Rachel: " I can't get out of the bathtub I am all swippery."
11/01/08

Me: "Why is Rachel crying?"
Michelle: "I absolutely punched her."
11/01/08

Michelle: " Who wants to see the birthday girl open her presents?
10/31/08

Me: "So did you have a good birthday and halloween?"
Michelle: "Yeah, I have enough candy to feed an army."
10/31/08

Aunt Kristen: "Come here Michelle, I want to tell you a secret...you are beautiful!"
Michelle: almost dismissively says " I know," and walks away.
10/25/08

Me: "Madison can you help me remember...(whatever it was) Michelle pipes in "I will help you remember too!
Madison: "Yeah, well mom asked me personal!"
10/21/08

On the way to take Maddie to school Michelle said that we needed to drive really fast so she wouldn't be late. Maddie said: " Yeah, we could, but do you want to get nabbed by the police?"
9/26/08

Yesterday I went to pick Maddie up from school. I was wearing cowgirl boots, I asked her if she like them, and she said "yeah, I like them, I was just wondering if we bought a farm?"
9/25/08

I was trying to get Maddie to take a shower by herself cause it's soooo much faster, and she said, " Mom, if you let Michelle take a shower too, I promise we won't chitter chat."
9/25/08

While looking at our wedding picture, Michelle said: "You are standing outside the temple, you two are a pair of love pigeons."
9/25/09

This is what Michelle said while sitting at the kitchen table: " I love these chairs, they protect small children."
9/22/08

Michelle: "Mom, can I see how big your tummy is? (I am 8 months pregnant) Awwwww, that is huge-mungus!
9/18/08

I heard Rachels voice echoing from the bathroom. She had her head inside the toilet. I said Rachel what are you doing?!!
Rachel: "I am talking to the potty."
9/18/08

On the way home from my Doctor appointment I let the girls call and report to Dave.
Michelle: I heard the babies heart beat, it sounded like roaring!"
9/18/08

Me: "Michelle, did you clean up your room?

Michelle: "Yes, but we don't want to mess it up so we are playing in Maddie's room."
9/11/08

After putting Rachel in a time-out for scratching Michelle on the face she (Rachel) said to me: "Mom, you annoying me, you be nice!" Needless to say, she stayed there a little longer...
9/7/08

Michelle: "If Rachel doesn't stop crying I am outta this neighborhood!"
9/7/08

We went to watch Madison at her school fun run fundraiser. For every lap you run you get a certain amount of money from your sponsors. After it was over I asked her how she felt and she said: " My heart was beeping so hard!"

9/5/08

Maddie was watching me put on my makeup and she said with a brushing motion to her cheeks, "Do you have any flesh?" I laughed and said, "you mean blush?"
9/1/08

Maddie: (laughing as she comes down the stairs) " I crack myself out!"
8/31/08

Maddie brought home a book from school called "All About Me" and I was reading through it and came to a page that said "What makes me so great is...." and Maddie wrote, "I can mack a cack. (translated, I can make a cake.)
8/28/08

The girls and I were cleaning the bathrooms and I was wiping down the sink.
Michelle: (grabbing the rag from me..) Mom, your stealing all the fun!
8/30/08

I was helping Dave with his new gadget that helps keeps his knee iced, and it has a very heavy adapter that has to be plugged in, Michelle was helping me carry stuff and getting him all hooked up and she dropped the adapter on her foot.
Me: "OW! Michelle, are you ok?"
Michelle: "I am glad that fell on my foot and not yours cause that really hurt!"
8/30/08

Me: "Rach, whatcha doing? (as she is flipping through a book)
Rachel: "Reading"
8/30/08

Rachel: "I love you Maddie! (as she lovingly reaches for Maddie's balloon) Maddie pulls it away from Rach, and Rach bursts into tears.
8/27/08

Maddie: "Mom, today can you do my hair really pretty? Mya and I want to look really fancy at school."
8/26/08

Me: "Michelle PLEASE pick up your necklace, I have tripped on it and Daddy just tripped on it too."
Michelle: "Did he go splat on his bum?"
8/25/08

Michelle: "I don't like it when you brush my hair, it makes my eyes wiggle and shiver and then the tears come out!"
7/25/08

Michelle: "I know if I ask you if I can get on my Webkinz, you will say "Nope-a-doodles."
7/22/08

Bishop Park reported to me a conversation he had with Michelle, she was telling all about our pets, and how when we lived in Vegas we had a cat, but it got lost.
Bishop: "Did you look for the cat and call it?"
Michelle: (Dramatic) "No!! It doesn't have a phone!!"
7/18/08

Michelle: "I am strong like a castle and sweet like a berry, and it's really true cause I am really really sweet!"
7/11/09

While driving in the car I was describing to my kids, if I were a horse what I would look like, which sounded a lot like what "Spirit" looked like. Maddie said she was a quarter horse (which according to her is a racing horse, I wouldn't know.) Then Michelle pipes up and says, " I am a penny horse!"
7/11/09

Rachel: To me and Dave she pats our back and says, " You a good mommy," to Dave, "you a good daddy."
7/10/08

Madison: " I already brushed my hair but it keeps getting wrinkled."

7/10/08

Michelle singing: "Zippidee do da zippidee ah...."
Rachel: "Stop Shell, you give me headache."
7/7/08

Me: "Michelle, you do such a good job cleaning up your room, but why won't you do it when I ask you to?"

Michelle: "I was waiting for the Holy Ghost to ask me."
